The Heart Behind the Arts

Fiona Obrist is a dedicated performing arts teacher with more than 20 years of experience and a genuine passion for inspiring others through the arts.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Fiona trained extensively in a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. As a vocalist, she is equally versatile, with training in classical, jazz, and contemporary singing. Her professional performance career has taken her across the globe — from Australia, Asia, and the Middle East to the prestigious stages of London’s West End.

Drawing on this rich background, Fiona has developed a unique teaching style that blends dance, singing, and drama techniques. Her goal is to help students unlock their potential, build confidence, and discover a lifelong love for the performing arts. Having taught in London, Hong Kong, Sydney, and now Singapore, Fiona brings an international perspective and a fresh, creative approach to every class.

Renowned for her infectious energy and enthusiasm, Fiona has a natural ability to connect with children, creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Students describe her as fun, patient, and encouraging, and they value the individual attention and care she gives each of them.

Beyond her work in the classroom, Fiona also choreographs original floor routines and coaches dance development for high-performance gymnastics programs.

At the heart of her philosophy is the belief that performing arts education goes far beyond the stage. Fiona is committed to helping her students grow not only as singers and dancers but also as confident individuals equipped with life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.

Mission Statement

My mission is to create a supportive space where children grow as performers and as individuals, developing skills, resilience, and self-belief through the joy of the performing arts. Creating a pathway for valuable life skills beyond the stage….
